Seasons

Thinking about coming for a visit? Maybe even staying awhile? Then let’s talk about weather, so you’ll know what to expect and what to pack.

SUMMER

With a gorgeous average temperature of 85 degrees, the third quarter of the year does not lack in the expected seasonal feeling. As evening approaches, that new Vols tshirt will be plenty comfortable for relaxing in the night air.

Be sure to head down to Market Square to enjoy the outdoor concerts on Tuesday and Thursday nights!

FALL

As summer fades away, focus turns to the absolute beauty of the Knoxville area in the Fall. Average highs in the last quarter of the calendar year drop right down to 60 degrees, which is just perfect for convincing our trees to put on an incredible show. Grab your jacket and go for a drive.

For an experience you won’t get anywhere else, make time to visit the annual Tennessee Fall Homecoming; music, crafts and craftspeople reenacting parts of our history!

WINTER

Knoxville doesn’t get much in the way of snow and extreme cold, so leave the mukluks behind you. Though it gets cold enough to appreciate the season, the average high temperature for the first quarter of the year is 53 degrees. It’ll get a bit chilly at night, with lows down around the freezing mark, but Spring will be here before you know it!

Remember, if you were caught up in the hustle and bustle of the holidays and didn’t make it down to experience Christmas in the City, Holidays on Ice skating in market Square is open through the first week of January!

SPRING

Things start to heat up in the second quarter of the year, with an average high temperature of 78 degrees! You may still find yourself reaching for a sweater when the sun goes down, but with temperatures on the rise, it won’t be that way for long!

Take advantage of the fair weather and head down to the Rhythm ‘n Blooms Fest. There’s no better way to celebrate the joy of Spring!
